AND NOW FOR THE LITTLE DOTLETS....

I can't say too much yet about these, just in case I give it all away, and blow my cover.....
Look how cute these little bakers sets are. I have always thought that bakers hats on kids look so cute, but I'd never been able to find a pattern to make them. I found one on the internet the other day (I'll have to get back to you on where I found it...) They were so easy to make and where finished in no time at all:-) Pity my kiddos are too big for them now, although Boy Child did ask if I would make him one - best I get to it before he changes his mind:-)
It only took a yard each of the patterned and matching plain fabric to make the set - you can't beat that!!!!

Once again the hats are being modeled by the ever obliging Fred The Head............ perhaps I need to work on getting him a more shapely body - that one is a bit shapless.... Sorry Fred!!!!
Thanks for stopping by and visiting for a while....
Have a wonderful weekend

GOING DOTTY....

I've just finished making my apron for Shawnee's Polka Dot Pretties Swap.............. doesn't that title just sound so girly!!!!
So a girly sounding swap, calls for a really girly apron - that's my excuse any way:-)
I made this apron using Simplicity pattern 2592, and I LOVE the result. The flounces that make up the skirt are my absolute favorite part.
I found the fabric at Hobby Lobby and may be making a trip back to get some more for me.......

So, I won't keep you guessing any longer what it looks like ...........
Here it is - what do y'all think?

Thanks to Girl Child for modeling it - even though it's way to girly for her (that's her quote, not mine:-) It's also very windy......the hem is straight, I promise!!!

I'll be putting the finishing touches to the rest of the goodies going with it, tonight then it'll be on its way tomorrow.

Have a lovely evening everyone:-)

OH SO CUTE SPOOL DOLLS....

6 pretty maids all in a row...

I've seen these spool dolls on a few different blogs over the past few weeks, and decided to give them a try. To say I am thrilled with the way they turned out would be an understatement!!!!

I LOVE them, and they were easier than I thought they would be to make. I was a little concerned about my painting skills, but thanks to paint pens it was a breeze:-) Anyone that can write with a sharpie can paint these little faces.

They each have a yard of pretty trim wound around their little bodies......... and they'll be going to a new home soon - more about that later.

I will definately be making more of these soon - I can think of a number of people I'd like to give a set of these to as a gift.

Thanks for stopping by for a visit........

Until next time:-)

ALL CAN BE REVEALED...

As promised, I'm going to show you what I made and sent to my April partner for our YOE swap. The theme for April was Songbirds (to quote Val....... think Cinderella type birdies:-)

I made her 2 birdie ornaments - one out of fake leather with fabric wings and the other one was my favorite, and soooo easy and quick to make. He was the spool bird (the red one you see). I added some eyes and wings to him, and hung some beads and a jingle bell from his belly:-)

I also made her some fabric coasters, and added a few of the goodies she liked.

In return I recieved this lovely package. I love the embroidered scatter cushion. It is now nicely nestled among my other cushions on a bench I have in our entrance hall.

For this swap, we also all signed up to provide a door prize for one of the months. I'm this month and I'm so excited about what I've put together - I can't show you yet though, as the theme for May hasn't been posted yet, but as soon as it is you'll get to see!!!!
Until next time - enjoy the beautiful spring weather:-)
Perhaps even take your crafting outside if you can.....

THE CRAFT FAIRY IS BACK IN ACTION.....

It's been a while - although I have been busy doing stuff. Sleep shorts for hubby's birthday and stuff I can't show you yet........... we don't want to go spoiling any suprises for my swap partner now do we!!!! All will be revealed soon..

Remember this little lady...

Well, sadly the girl I was partnered with never followed through, but the sweet lady who was hosting the swap sent me this little lady at the beginning of the week...
She is precious and now sits above my sewing machine. She will over see all future creations........ Yay, quality control at last:-)

Now this next creation was one of those last minute, I've run out of time creations - but, I absolutely LOVE the way it turned out. I have plans for using this idea as a luncheon favor in the near future.
Our Spring Bible Study ended today, and I wanted to give our two small group leaders a little something. They are such awesome girls and do a great job of leading our small group time.

I scratched through my stash of goodies and found some chain I had left over from another project and some charms (you see, there is a reason I hoard things:-)
They were combined and voila......... a bookmark!!!!
They honestly took me 3 minutes each at the most to make, but are so pretty.

Until next time.... keep crafting!!!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU...

Happy birthday to you.....Happy birthday dear daddy.....Happy birthday to you!!!!
That sweet hubby of mine turned 49 yesterday. As is tradition in our home, we had a birthday dinner for him - some of his favorites.............chicken parmesan, rice, cauliflower and brussel sprouts:)
This was followed by his birthday cake. This cake really wasn't meant to be!!! It rose like no cake in history - who knows why, but it was HUGE.... and then the top of it broke into 3 pieces while I was trying to get it iced. It was however very yummy, and lets be honest, that's all that really matters!!!!

Then as always.........no photo shoot is complete withouth the goofy shot!!!

So....Happy Birthday Babe, we hope you had a fantastic day:)
I'll be back later today with a suprise that arrived in the mail for me yesterday..................
See ya'll later and enjoy your day:)

FROM RUSSIA WITH LOVE....

I thought I'd share one of the Easter gifts I made this year with. I made it for a friend of mine - Russia is very dear to her heart, so when I saw this knitting pattern, I knew I had to make it for her:-)
It knitted up really quickly, however starting it was not so easy. 7 attempts and I finally got it right............I think 6 stitches split between 3 needles, made for some very easy twisting in the beginning which in turn resulted in a big, ugly bump!!! I'm glad I persevered though, she is really cute.

May I introduce you to Tatyana - the metroyshka doll......

She does have 2 younger sisters, Svetlana and Ivana, whom I think will have to be knitted into creation at some point;-)

Now for my mom moment..........................
Boy Child LOVES to fish!!! Lucky for him we have a pond in our neighborhood, within close walking distance of our house. He spent some time down there today and look at what he pulled out of there!!! It's like a monster from the deep!!! It could have pulled him in - all 10 pounds of it!!! He was so excited with this catch - it really made his day!!! Way to go sweet boy:-)

Thanks for stopping by and visiting for a while....
Have a blessed Easter everyone.
