I thought I'd share one of the Easter gifts I made this year with. I made it for a friend of mine - Russia is very dear to her heart, so when I saw this knitting pattern, I knew I had to make it for her:-)
It knitted up really quickly, however starting it was not so easy. 7 attempts and I finally got it right............I think 6 stitches split between 3 needles, made for some very easy twisting in the beginning which in turn resulted in a big, ugly bump!!! I'm glad I persevered though, she is really cute.
May I introduce you to Tatyana - the metroyshka doll......
She does have 2 younger sisters, Svetlana and Ivana, whom I think will have to be knitted into creation at some point;-)
Now for my mom moment..........................
Boy Child LOVES to fish!!! Lucky for him we have a pond in our neighborhood, within close walking distance of our house. He spent some time down there today and look at what he pulled out of there!!! It's like a monster from the deep!!! It could have pulled him in - all 10 pounds of it!!! He was so excited with this catch - it really made his day!!! Way to go sweet boy:-)
Thanks for stopping by and visiting for a while....
Have a blessed Easter everyone.
Yeah, she's mine! I LOVE LOVE LOVE my Russian "LaLa" as C&C call them! She will be treasured forever knowing she was made by your hands :)
ReplyDeleteP.S. That fish Rich caught is HUGE! We should have fried him up and served him with coleslaw and hush puppies! Next time he pulls one out that big, we're eating it!
WOW! Great fish!! And yes, I agree, the pollen this year is the worst I ever remember!
ReplyDeleteThat is so cute. I have several Russian nesting dolls and would love to add some cuties like this. FUN!
